Life as Art ~ Nashville, TN Photography
When I go to my mom’s house to visit I have a ritual. I casually step through all of the rooms and check everything out to see what has been moved, if the jewelry box is on the same shelf, if the Audrey Hepburn photo is on the side of the fridge. I take a minute to look over all of the memories on the wall; the photos of me in college. The set of photos of my grandmother, my mom, and me all in the same pose on the balcony staring out at the ocean… all taken some 20 years apart. Once I’ve checked that these things are in order we get down to the visiting.
I have mentioned before how much I love visiting Chris and Heather’s home. Well, I have noticed the same rituals starting when I go to photograph their sweet baby girl. I like to sit in the floor to pet their dogs, I like to check out the artwork framed in their front room, I read the letter Chris wrote when he was a little kid and Heather had framed, and I Love to walk around and check out all of the other memories that they have on their walls. Heather has done a really awesome job of taking the images I have given her and turning them into real works of art. Here are just a couple of examples of how she has worked these photographs into their home.
Here are a couple of canvas prints.
And some framed photographs.
Heather, thank you for your inspiration! I’m already planning where to put a canvas print of us on our next beach vacation!
